How We Built This Program

Started in 2019 after working with dozens of small businesses across Durban. They kept asking for better financial training, so we created it.

1

Early 2020 – Research Phase

Talked with 47 business owners about their biggest money headaches. Turns out most struggled with tracking costs, not understanding them. That insight shaped everything else.

2

Mid 2021 – Pilot Groups

Ran three small test groups with 8-10 participants each. Learned quickly that spreadsheet theory bores people. Switched to real scenario work and saw engagement jump.

3

Late 2022 – First Full Cohort

Opened enrollment to 35 learners from retail, services, and trades. About half found ways to cut 12-18% from monthly expenses within three months of finishing.

4

Through 2024 – Refinements

Added modules on vendor negotiations and seasonal budgeting based on student feedback. Dropped two units that tested poorly. The program keeps evolving with what actually helps.

5

Looking Ahead – 2026 Updates

Planning new content on digital payment systems and cross-border costs for June intake. Also testing shorter intensive format for people who can't commit to six months.

"

I wasted three years guessing at my costs before this program. Now I know exactly where money goes each month. The tracking system they teach isn't fancy, but it works better than anything I tried before.

What You'll Actually Learn

Months 1-2: Cost Tracking Basics

Start by mapping your current spending. Learn to categorize expenses properly and spot patterns. Most people discover costs they forgot existed.

Months 3-4: Analysis Skills

Figure out which costs are fixed, which flex, and which you can influence. Practice variance analysis with real business data. This phase clicks for most learners around week 10.

Months 5-6: Strategy Work

Build reduction plans that fit your actual business. Test negotiation approaches with vendors. Final project involves presenting a complete cost management system you can use right away.

What Past Students Report

Results vary based on business type and how much effort you put in. But these patterns show up consistently.

Better Visibility

Most graduates say they understand their cost structure for the first time. That clarity alone helps with planning and decision-making.

Practical Tools

You'll leave with tracking templates and analysis methods that work in real businesses. Nothing theoretical or academic here.

Peer Network

Classes mix different industries, which creates useful perspective. Several study groups from past cohorts still meet quarterly to share ideas.

Vendor Confidence

Learning proper negotiation approaches changes how you handle suppliers. Some students renegotiate contracts before even finishing the program.

Waste Reduction

When you track properly, inefficiencies become obvious. Common finds include duplicate subscriptions, poor purchasing timing, and forgotten contracts.

Ongoing Support

Graduate access to monthly workshops and our resource library. Plus you can book quarterly check-ins if you hit roadblocks implementing what you learned.
